What is the Hamburg Viola Festival?

The Hamburg Viola Festival was founded by Michael Holm, Klaus Grumpelt, Susanne Riebesehl and Andreas Hampel to showcase the viola, to bring viola players together and to show new master violas and viola bows. A festival by violists for violists!

We do not see ourselves as the organisers of all events, but would like to invite the city's violists to organise their own small events and concerts within the festival.

We want to bring together and connect the North German violist scene!
The short concerts are planned to last 15-20 minutes, followed by discussions over coffee and wine,

and public sound tests of the violas on display are an essential part of the festival!

We are looking forward to an inspiring viola week!
